2020 BERKLEE CHINESE NEW YEAR CONCERT
February 6, 2020
The Chinese New Year Concert is an annual celebration among Chinese and other Asian populations at Berklee. Its main purpose is to celebrate the Spring Festival for Chinese students, as well as other students who celebrate this festival.
In its ninth year, the concert condenses the development of Chinese culture and music into a 90-minute program, with unique arrangements of music styles such as pop, rock, jazz, R&B, and traditional Chinese music. Featuring dance and other forms of performance, the concert will show the audience a new perspective on China.
The theme for the concert is love—情 in Chinese. It will feature music and media expressing different kinds of love, from family, friendship, and romantic love to love of homeland, nature, and music.

In a celebration that bridged the Chinese and American music industries, Ray and Berklee College of Music talent from different countries performed Chinese and English songs in mixed styles, including soul, pop, R&B, funk, and jazz.
